On June 11, 2016, Jackie Chan was in Shanghai for the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) Red Carpet Ceremony. Walking alongside Jackie on the red carpet was well known Chinese actress Liu Tao.

Yesterday, Jackie attended the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week Opening Forum with director Sam Raini, Teddy Chan, and Chin Ka-Lok.

On May 23, 2016, international super star Jackie Chan attended the Skiptrace Press Conference held in Beijing. Also starring well known Chinese actress, Fan Bing Bing, the upcoming new film will be released during the summer period.

Good friend, Yuen Biao, surprised Jackie at the press conference, making a special trip from Canada in support of the new movie.

 

Jackie talked about his near death experience while filming a scene in Guangxi, “When we were filming in a river in Guangxi, I was caught in a torrent and fell off the raft into the water. I immediately yelled for help but just kept rolling in the current. Somehow I got hold of the raft again. It was so scary!”

Stars of the English and Chinese versions of Kung Fu Panda 3 were in Shanghai on January 19th for the China premiere of the animation. Jackie Chan, who voices for the character “Monkey” in the English version and Po’s biological father in the Chinese version, rushed back from England to attend the red carpet event. “I’m very delighted to see foreign production companies engage in making Chinese animations, helping to spread Chinese culture. So I’m always ready to provide voices for characters in these films”, Jackie commented to reporters.

Also at the event were Hollywood stars Jack Black, who returns to play panda Po, and Kate Hudson, who plays new Panda Mei Mei.

On Monday December 28, 2015, Jackie Chan was in Taiwan to attend the grand opening of the Taiwan National Palace Museum Southern Branch. Jackie donated a set of 12 replica Chinese Zodiac Bronze sculptures to the museum, which were displayed in the courtyard of the building.

On the evening of November 21, 2015, Jackie Chan attended the 52nd Annual Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan to present the Lifetime Achievement award to a great legend in the entertainment industry, 92-year old super star Ms. Teresa Lee Li Hua.

Nicknamed “Xiao Mi” (little kitten), Lee Li Hua entered the entertainment industry at the tender age of 16, spanning over 40 years in film and featured in over 120 movies. Two time Golden Horse Award recipient, Jackie Chan, especially flew to Taipei to present the award to his “God-Mother”. Jackie Chan collaborated with Lee Li Hua at the young age of 9, acting as Lee’s son in the film Qin Xiang Lian.

On Tuesday 9th of June, 2015, Jackie was in Nepal delivering aid relief kits to families in the devastated earthquake struck area. Together with the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Beijing (JCCFB), Red Cross Foundation China, and the Nepal Red Cross Society, Jackie helped deliver boxes of essential items including food, blankets, water, tents and many other items.

Jackie and JCCF donated RMB$1 million (USD$160,000) for the aid relief kits, and Jackie previously donated SGD$100,000 (USD$74,400) when the earthquake hit Nepal in April.

Nepal was struck by a disastrous magnitude 7.8 earthquake on April 25, 2015. More than 8,000 people have been killed and over 23,000 injured.

On May 7, 2015, Jackie Chan became the first celebrity to be appointed the Anti-Drug Ambassador in Singapore. Jackie received the appointment at Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapopre, during the launch of a new anti-drug mobile game application developed by Aversion and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

On April 23, Jackie Chan was in Udine, a North Eastern town in Italy, for the opening of the Far East Film Festival. Director Daniel Lee accompanied Jackie at the event, first attending a press conference followed by the screening of Dragon Blade, officially opening the film festival. Jackie was presented with the Golden Mulberry Life Achievement Award.

The 19th Annual Channel [V] China Music Awards and Asian Influential Power Grand Ceremony (全球華語榜中榜暨亞洲影響力大典) was held on April 16, 2015, at Macau’s Cotai Arena. The theme of the evening was “Never Stop” with over 40 celebrities from all over Asia attending the ceremony.

Jackie Chan won two awards at the ceremony: Channel [V] Best Motion Picture Theme Song (Channel V 最佳電影歌曲) for “Hero of the Desert” 《大漠英雄》 and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Asian Music (華語樂壇特別貢獻大獎).
